Changing Oil Filter & Oil
Tip: chenge the oil with warm engine (not hot) in order to lower the oil viscosity.
Removing the old oil filter & oil
- To have better access to the oil filter it's necessary to remove the air manifold.
- Remove the oil filter cover (TORX T30 & HEX M10).
- Jack up the car.
- Screw off the oil filler cup and pull out the oil dipstick.
- Screw off the oil drain plug (TORX T45) and leave the oil to stream out.
- Lower the car to facilitate the oil to completely pour out.
- Screw off the oil filter cap (HEX M27).
Installing the new oil filter & oil
- Screw on the new oil filter with its O-ring.
Tip: smear a dab of oil on the O-ring in order to prevent it from seizing when it is tightened.
- Screw on the oil filter cap with a torque tightening of 25 Nm.
- Jack up the car.
- Screw on the oil drain plug.
Tip: clean the thread and inspect the O-ring.
- Lower the car.
- Add the new oil according to the car's use-and-maintenance-manual.
Tip: do a first check of the oil level with engine off; then run the engine for about 30 seconds, to circulate the new oil; shut it down and check again the level.
